The Torrance Police Department has lost four brave men who answered the call of duty and paid the ultimate price. Their names endure, their sacrifice remembered.

Sergeant William Lewis
The first Torrance police officer lost in the line of duty, he was a pioneering motor sergeant who rebuilt the department’s motorcycle unit and served with dedication, leadership, and honor.

Officer David Seibert
A compassionate Torrance police officer remembered for always looking for ways to help others, he served his community with quiet dedication and is forever honored for his sacrifice in the line of duty.

Detective Gary Rippstein
A dedicated Torrance police detective and the department’s first Police Chaplain, he served with compassion, faith, and courage, and is forever remembered for his sacrifice in the line of duty.

Officer Thomas Keller
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and dedicated Torrance police officer, he served his community with courage and honor and is forever remembered for his sacrifice.
